Vintage Design

A 19th century French Napoleon III square back armchair with a low back and a wide generous seat. The walnut frame is raised on turned ebony legs and is unusual as is is shorter and wider than similar styles from this period. The armchair has been fully restored and stripped back to the solid walnut frame for upholstery with a new coil spring base, with hessian lining and calico coverings added before being finished in Princeton blue stripe ticking upholstery. French, circa 1880.
