In a common thread with Sottoportico rug and following the sequence of rugs that tell the architecture of Venice, also in Sottovolto water and colors are the elements protagonists of the laguna city. Made with the tafting technique, have been used 100% New Zeland top quality wool. Yearns and manufacture are certificate as handcrafted exclusively in the Italian atelier. /Sot-to-vo`l-to/ An open passage dedicated to public transit beneath the houses and palazzi of Venice in order to cope with the limited space offered by the lagoon city, the sottovolto or sotto portico is undoubtedly an unmistakable aspect of Venetian architecture, whose creation goes back to the origins of the Most Serene Republic. The oldest? Possibly the 13th- century sottovolto of Corte Seconda del Milion, near the ancient foundations of Marco Polo's houses, very near Rialto.
