Vintage Design

A set of 2 “Jumpers” chairs, which are an icon of Polish design of the PRL period. Chairs are distinguished by a recognizable design known from the history of Polish design.

Chairs after professional renovation. Wooden structure varnished in black mat, upholstery made of high-quality gray fabric, selected individually.

The "Skoczek" chair was designed in 1965 by Juliusz Kędziorek for Gościcińskie Fabryki Mebli. The form of the chair was designed to resemble a ski jump. In the 60s and 70s ski jumping in Poland was very popular. The design of the Polish chair was created on its wave. The prototype of the project was taken from Wielka Krokiew in Zakopane.

In 1966, at the exhibition in Poznań, "Skoczek" was awarded a prestigious award for functionality and good design.

The "Skoczek" chair design is recognizable by its iconic design rooted in the culture and history of art of the 20th century. In 2011, this model was presented at the exhibition "We want to be modern. Polish design 1955-1968 from the collection of the National Museum in Warsaw" presenting the applied art of the 1960s.
