Vintage Design

Pretty armchair with salt box, all in solid wood, fully doweled. The backrest is carved with a diamond. The solid wood armrests are doweled. The seat hides a chest
under 2 removable boards.

Formerly in country houses in France, this type of armchair called "grandfather's throne" was placed inside the fireplace in order to dry the salt hidden in the chest.
