German Desk Lamp from HALA - Hannoversche Lampenfabrik, 1930s

About This Piece

Vintage Design

This decorative model was one of the more elaborate lights from HALA in Hannover. The faceplate can be freely adjusted in any direction via a ball joint in the base. On the reflector there is a joint that can be locked with a wing screw, which is marked HALA DRGM (German Reichs Utility Model), the pre-war designation for protected design. The manufacturer has attached a device for wall mounting under the foot. The lamp has been rewired and can now shine again for many years with a fine patina of age.

With few signs of wear. There are a few scratches in the paintwork of the shade that don't spoil the overall impression. The lamp is professionally rewired with a new cord switch.
