French Art Nouveau spelter Athena statue. Very nice treatment of the subject in a detailed and nervous classic style with a high quality of details. Very nice face. Superb old patina. We find on this statue the symbols of Athena: the owl for wisdom, and the snake. On his shield we can observe the head of Medusa. According to Greek mythology, Athena was already born as an adult, which allowed her to help the gods in their fight against the Titans.
