In this wonderful canvas E. Ferrante depicts the Gulf of Naples seen from Posillipo. Ferrante was inspired by the masters of the Posillipo School, including Antonio Pitloo and Giacinto Gigante, which used the “marina” scene as a pretext to portray an idyllic landscape.
