This Kantharos is a bronze bowl with a high handle and was made in the 6th century BC. BC in what was then the province of Etruria in southern Italy, today's western Tuscany, was used as a drinking bowl at the symposium, a type of conference, for drinking wine. In the Greek world it is often depicted in the hand of Dyonisos and was originally made of ceramic. The vintage bronze bowl was made by Blachian Bronze Kunst in the 1970s.
