Louis XVI style armchair and chair, Napoleon III era, 19th century. XIX - France
Spectacular set of seats of French origin, from the Napoleon III period in Louis XVI style. This beautiful set consists of an armchair and a “chauffeuse” or armless chair with a low seat, which was used to sit near the fireplace. Newly upholstered with two different patterns, a gingham print and a floral one.

The structure of Louis XVI style furniture is based on simple and geometric lines. In this case, the blade or backrest of these seats is oval or medallion in shape, a characteristic that gives it a unique personality. They rest on legs in the shape of a grooved stipe with a circular section (straight legs that taper towards the end). The armrests have a rich carving of plant elements. Ideal for a living area or bedroom, in which to create a warm, cozy and elegant atmosphere.

The pink vichy fabric is from Manuel Canovas, one of the French fabric and wallpaper houses par excellence. It was founded in 1963 and soon its luxurious fabrics became famous internationally. Even today the house defines itself as faithful to the French art of living, always with a touch of 18th century nostalgia.

The floral pattern fabric is Colefax and Fowler, one of the quintessential English fabric and wallpaper houses. It was founded in 1930 and soon its luxurious fabrics became famous internationally. Even today the house stands out for its attractive classic English personality, mixed with its timeless and subtle elegance.
