19th Century Colored Glass and Silver Salt Bottle

Here is a pretty little salt bottle, it has beautifully crafted colored glassware. The cap is silver. Boar punch, plus another punch to identify on the ring. Generally concealed to be revealed only at the fateful moment of the fainting of their owners, the flasks with salts constitute fascinating testimonies of the reigning taste at the romantic time. Women's toiletries, they have been present since ancient Greece and Rome and experienced phenomenal growth in the 17th century, particularly at the court of Louis XIV. The fashion for these small bottles exploded even more in the 18th century before giving rise to the most diverse creations in the following century. The classic shapes are however adopted by the majority: flattened, cylindrical or pear-shaped, some of these bottles are even equipped with a chain and a ring to be able to be kept in the hand.
